The 13-inch MacBook Pro is Apple’s most popular pro notebook. And the 16-inch, the world’s best pro notebook, is designed for developers, photographers, scientists, music producers and anyone who relies on a Mac to create their life’s best work. Each notebook is equipped with a redesigned Touch ID module. With a simple tap on the sensor, your fingerprint instantly opens your Mac, unlocks private documents, or rents movies.
I was the engineering lead for the 16-inch and 13-inch MacBook Pro Touch ID modules. As the product design engineer, I am directly responsible for the module’s architecture, functionality, and reliability performance. A large part of my work focused on developing new brittles metrology and surface quality characterization as well as failure analysis through NPI. For this product line, I have supported the program through the full design life cycle — from early builds, ramp, to sustaining quality control.
