Solidifying Fluid Interaction

Skills Developed — experimental setup development, fabrication techniques
Materials / Processes — bees wax, plaster, 300Q and 350 epoxy

Taking inspiration from my previous work on accidental painting, I continued to study other material fluid dynamics. In these experiments, I varied several key parameters and then recorded their results by solidifying or curing the materials mid-interaction.

The final parameters studied were temperature for plaster+beeswax and time for the epoxy trials. For the plaster and beeswax, the hotter the beeswax the more mixed and string-like the plaster structure formed. As time after the initial pour increased, the shape of the interactions were larger and less mixed.
